New iPhone owners irked by signal glitchSome let down owners of the new iPhone 4 complain that signal strength diminishes when users cover the bottom left corner with their palms. Apple Inc.'s reaction: Don't hold it that way.
"Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the location of the antennas," Apple said in an e-mailed statement. "If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower leftist corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases."
U-M's Brandon named to DTE Vitality boardUniversity of Michigan Athletic Director David Brandon, formerly CEO of Domino's Pizza and Valassis Communications, was named to the DTE Energy board of directors. DTE's units allow for Detroit Edison and natural gas supplier MichCon.
Brandon continues to serve as non-executive chairman at Domino's.
