Sony’s Xplod car audio systems are truly well known and now we have word that Sony has announced four new Xplod in-dash CD Receivers. The new models blend strong connectivity with uber-smart looks, and they offer simple and affordable audio experiences.
“Consumers continue to look for inexpensive ways to extend their audio options in the car,” stated Mike Kahn, director of Sony’s mobile electronics business. “With this new postcard of car stereos, Sony Xplod is building on our reputation for offering great sound and convenient technology, all at an affordable value.”
Each of the four new head units from Sony features Radio Data System technology or RDS technology, which gives the user, dirt about the track and the artist while streaming FM radio.
Sony’s new CDX-GT640UI and CDX-GT540UI CD Receivers feature a front USB 1-wire input which allow for link to an iPod, iPhone, and other digital music players, plus they also feature a front aux-in connection. Users can quickly and comfortably navigate through music libraries with Sony’s Jump Mode, Quick-BrowZer and Zappin technology. Each stereo is shadow and HD radio ready and is also capable of enhancing sound quality using DM+ Advanced technology.

Cardholders can download titles to their home computers for listening or transfer them to most WMA/MP3 players including iPods. Many titles can also be burned to CD for use in the car.
Downloaded audiobooks are automatically returned to the system, so there are no tardily fees. Holds can be placed on popular titles, but many titles are "always available," allowing unlimited concurrent use. All this can be done at any in good time always from home or office, so there's no need to rush to get to the library.
