Suzuki heads upscale with the afforda... Examiner.com

Suzuki is celebrating its centennial in 2009 - conjecture it or not, the company got its start making looms for weaving cloth in 1909. Along the way, they’ve had a successful history, introducing their motorcycles to the Coalesced States in 1963 and bringing the first four-wheeled ATV to the U.S. in 1983. They introduced their first passenger cars here in 1985 with the popular Sidekick mini-SUV.

Loyal forward to today and Suzuki has an impressive lineup of small SUVs, priced to move and designed to appeal to a to the utmost swath of the market. We’ll talk about my favorite Suzuki, the sporty SX4, in a couple days but right now we’ll converge on Suzuki’s flagship, the XL7.

Suzuki calls the XL7 a mid-size crossover - that means it’s built on a unibody chassis like a car, and offers room for 7 in 3 rows. We took the XL7 on our patented “extended family test drive” – piling the whole kinfolk, including Grandma and Grandpa, into the car and going out to dinner. The verdict was generally positive, as an average-size matured was perfectly comfortable in the third row, though watching her get back there was something of a laugh riot.

FYI, the stupid things our criminals ... Dorchester Reporter

It’s been a while. Delighted to see that while I’ve been gone, Dorchester’s stupidest criminals were hard at work being, well, stupid. All of these little ditties occurred absolutely recently and all involve people saying or doing incredibly stupid things. Enjoy.

Officers Fabiano and Tran responded to a radio call for a one-car misfortune at 725 Morrissey Boulevard. On arrival the officers observed a black Ford Explorer with substantial front-end expense as a result of hitting a concrete pole. Sitting behind the wheel was the vehicle’s owner, a 42-year-old Dorchester lady-in-waiting. The officers asked the woman for her license and registration and the woman stated, “I’m on my way to work and I’m just difficult to get a cup of coffee,” which normally would be a legitimate excuse except this time the woman was in the drive-through at a Citizens Bank. After putting the conveyance in the “park” mode, the officer s asked again for the woman’s license and she finally produced her profession ID and insisted that it was her license. Strike three came soon after when she was asked if she had been drinking and she stated “no” even though the fictile water bottle next to her was filled with red wine. After refusing to perform any field sobriety tests, she was assisted, staggering, to a to hand cruiser and later charged with several driving offenses. Mistaking a bank for a Dunkin’ Donuts, that’s a new one on me. July 5, 2:30 a.m. Source:
